My Current Wishlist | April 2015

I've been loving doing these wishlist posts! I don't know if anyone really finds them interesting, but I enjoy making them so much! I have quite a few things on my list at the moment, but as I am a student and these are all quite expensive, they'll probably stay on the list into the unforeseeable future. That is unless I suddenly decides that my life would not be complete without them and I end up buying them even though I really shouldn't. It has definitely happened more than once before...

Spring Break 2015!

For spring break this year, my boyfriend and I went to Tel Aviv (and we also traveled around a bit)! I have been there once before, spring break two years ago, and I love it there so much! I love the mixes of different people and cultures, and how it is a perfect blend of western and middle-eastern. And the food... Oh my..! The food is amazing! They have the most amazing markets with fresh, vibrant, amazing, locally grown fruits and vegetables, nuts, spices and every other possible amazing food item you can imagine (I bought 2kg(!) of medjool dates, among other things, to bring home!!). I am literally in heaven when I am at one of those markets! And the meals they prepare are divine too! Falafels, the most amazing hummus ever, incredible salads, homemade lemonades, shakshuka, and the list goes on and on! They have the most amazing shawarma too, but as I am not eating meat anymore, I didn't get to enjoy one this time around..

I mentioned in my last post that I am not the biggest history person, but you can't help but be interested in the history of this place! I'm pretty sure it's the area with the most densely packed history in the world (don't quote me on that, but I can't be far off..). Imagine walking on the same paths as Jesus, or the romans, or Moses or Abraham and probably a million other important people that I can't think of right now. It is so cool!
We did more historical things the last time we went (you can read about that here), and this time we mostly enjoyed ourselves and relaxed, but definitely with a hint of exploring, history and adventure as well!

As you could probably tell, the market was definitely one of my favorite things about the trip, and if I had to choose I think going to Yafo (or Jaffa) was my other favorite. Yafo is the old town of Tel Aviv, and I really loved it there. It's older (obviously) and so pretty with narrow streets and light brick buildings! They also have an entire area where all the streets were named after the different zodiac signs, which I thought was so neat. It is definitely a place I want to go back to.
Another thing I loved was experiencing passover there again, and of course catching up with everyone from last time.

We definitely had the most amazing time! It is one of my favorite places, and I can't wait to go back!

Chilling under a carob tree! How cool is that, they just grow randomly everywhere!

In Yafo! How pretty are those streets?!

I also posted a travel diary on my youtube channel if you want to check it out and see what we did day to day:

New Years in Warsaw

One of my Christmas present this year was a trip to Warsaw with my boyfriend for the New Years weekend. I have never been to Poland before, and I love exploring new places, so I was super excited to go. The day before we left I actually got ill with a fever and I really didn't feel good. I was hoping that it would pass, but I ended up being ill for most of our trip, which sucked! We still did some exploring though, and managed to see a few of the things Warsaw has to offer!

I really liked the city. I hadn't really heard much about it before and I didn't know quite what to expect, but it definitely left me with a good impression! It was absolutely freezing the entire time we were there, so if I ever go back I think I would like it to be in a warmer season. That being said though, the Christmas decorations in Warsaw were some of the most impressive ones I've seen, and being a huge Christmas-lover, I thoroughly enjoyed that! They had the biggest Christmas tree with the most amazing decorations ever, and they also had huge presents and tree decorations along the streets + all of the trees had fairy lights on them. I'm pretty sure fairy lights, or Christmas lights (whatever you prefer, I just prefer calling them fairy lights as I would like to think that they're appropriate all year round!) are some of my favorite things ever. They just make me so happy!
There was also a really nice Christmas market with homemade treats, clothing items, decorations and everything else that belongs to a proper Christmas market.

Warsaw also has a lot of history, especially from the 2nd World War when a huge part of the city was a ghetto where the jews were kept. We went to see a part of the wall, separating the ghetto from the rest of the city, that is still left standing between some houses. I'm honestly not the biggest history enthusiast (you'd have to ask my boyfriend for more details), but being in a place like that really made an impact on me. The holocaust is such a terrible part of our history, and it was definitely special to be in a place where it actually happened.

Apart from the wall and the Palace of Culture and Science, we didn't see too many touristy things or go to that many museums. We actually tried, but quickly realized that most of them were closed over the new years weekend. We still had a lovely time though, just wandering the streets, looking at the surroundings and all the people, and then stopping at a cute little cafe for something warm to drink when we got too cold.

My Christmas Wishlist 2014!

So this may seem like a little bit if a superficial post, but I always really enjoy hearing about what other people want for Christmas... These are some of the things that I am going to be wishing for this year. I in no way expect to get all or any of these gifts, but I still make a wishlist every single year! My grandma actually always demands to get one, so there's my excuse :) I also think it is good to think about what you put on your wishlist.. As a student I may not always be able to afford everything I want (who are though..?), so I try to wish for things that I really want/need. Things that I wouldn't necessarily go out and buy for myself. I'll probably come up with more things as we get closer to Christmas, but here is what's on my wishlist so far :)

Have you started thinking about your wishlist yet? If so, what is on the top of yours? As I said, I love getting inspiration from other peoples wishlists, so please let me know yours in the comments below :)

My Apartment Tour! ♡

Guys!! I uploaded my apartment tour to my youtube channel a couple of days ago! We're moving away for a year (I'll update more on that later), and I really wanted to film the tour before we left. We've been living there for a little over two years now, and it is the perfect apartment for us. We never quite finished decorating, but I guess we'll have another shot when we move back next year. I have a lot of new ideas and I'm already excited. Roy not so much. Haha. Everything is as it should. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think :)

Tumblr!

Are you guys on tumblr? I had a tumblr two or three years ago and was completely obsessed, but then I just stopped using it. A month or two back, I really wanted to get back into it. I didn't really like the the old one, and the name was really silly, so that became the birth of my new tumblr: aWildflowerLife! I am absolutely obsessed with it. I love finding new fun ones to follow, and scrolling through the feed has been my favorite thing to do when I'm bored. I find so much inspiration there, and it just generally makes me so happy! Is that stupid? I don't even care.. lol!

If you want to check out my tumblr, you can do so at www.aWildflowerLife.tumblr.com (or just click the link ;). And please, please let me know if you have a tumblr!! I'm always looking for new ones to follow!

Moving..

So this last week has been intense, to say the least. We've been packing up our entire apartment and cleaning everything down to every tiny little corner. One thing that really hit me during this process was: how can two people living in a fairly small apartment own SO MUCH STUFF?! I don't understand! And I completely take the blame for most of it, as I tend to keep everything and never throw things out, but still.. I think we must have gotten rid of 5 huge bags of things to throw out, and I'm sure we could have disposed of even more. I'm feeling the hoarder tendencies lurking, and I'm only 22 years old! I thought those were reserved for old people?!
Anyways.. That's what's been going on in my life recently. School hasn't started for me yet, but I've been working pretty much from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm everyday with the packing and cleaning. So much for the relaxation of having a late school start..

I just wanted to give you guys a little update on what's been going on. What have you been up to recently? Have you started school yet?
