My Christmas Wishlist 2014!

So this may seem like a little bit if a superficial post, but I always really enjoy hearing about what other people want for Christmas... These are some of the things that I am going to be wishing for this year. I in no way expect to get all or any of these gifts, but I still make a wishlist every single year! My grandma actually always demands to get one, so there's my excuse :) I also think it is good to think about what you put on your wishlist.. As a student I may not always be able to afford everything I want (who are though..?), so I try to wish for things that I really want/need. Things that I wouldn't necessarily go out and buy for myself. I'll probably come up with more things as we get closer to Christmas, but here is what's on my wishlist so far :)

Have you started thinking about your wishlist yet? If so, what is on the top of yours? As I said, I love getting inspiration from other peoples wishlists, so please let me know yours in the comments below :)

My Apartment Tour! ♡

Guys!! I uploaded my apartment tour to my youtube channel a couple of days ago! We're moving away for a year (I'll update more on that later), and I really wanted to film the tour before we left. We've been living there for a little over two years now, and it is the perfect apartment for us. We never quite finished decorating, but I guess we'll have another shot when we move back next year. I have a lot of new ideas and I'm already excited. Roy not so much. Haha. Everything is as it should. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think :)

Tumblr!

Are you guys on tumblr? I had a tumblr two or three years ago and was completely obsessed, but then I just stopped using it. A month or two back, I really wanted to get back into it. I didn't really like the the old one, and the name was really silly, so that became the birth of my new tumblr: aWildflowerLife! I am absolutely obsessed with it. I love finding new fun ones to follow, and scrolling through the feed has been my favorite thing to do when I'm bored. I find so much inspiration there, and it just generally makes me so happy! Is that stupid? I don't even care.. lol!

If you want to check out my tumblr, you can do so at www.aWildflowerLife.tumblr.com (or just click the link ;). And please, please let me know if you have a tumblr!! I'm always looking for new ones to follow!

Moving..

So this last week has been intense, to say the least. We've been packing up our entire apartment and cleaning everything down to every tiny little corner. One thing that really hit me during this process was: how can two people living in a fairly small apartment own SO MUCH STUFF?! I don't understand! And I completely take the blame for most of it, as I tend to keep everything and never throw things out, but still.. I think we must have gotten rid of 5 huge bags of things to throw out, and I'm sure we could have disposed of even more. I'm feeling the hoarder tendencies lurking, and I'm only 22 years old! I thought those were reserved for old people?!
Anyways.. That's what's been going on in my life recently. School hasn't started for me yet, but I've been working pretty much from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm everyday with the packing and cleaning. So much for the relaxation of having a late school start..

A manditory sushi break between all the boxes (from my instagram @SirisLife2)
I just wanted to give you guys a little update on what's been going on. What have you been up to recently? Have you started school yet?

Book Review: The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman

Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the book The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman. I bought is while I was in DC, and finished it on the plane ride home. It is definitely an easy read. Really easy going and just overall really enjoyable.

The book is about a woman called Brett who has been really close with her mother her entire life. In the beginning of the book her mother dies, and while her brothers get their inheritance right away, Brett has to complete a list before she can get her share. The list she has to complete is a "life list" she wrote herself when she was 14. It includes stuff like fall in love, have a baby, buy a horse, become a teacher etc. She has no complete 10 things in total, some of which seem completely impossible. To finish the list she has to make some pretty drastic changes in her life, and the book follows her through these changes.

I completely loved the book. I thought the idea of the story was really creative and so fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed following Brett's journey. It is gripping, heart warming and a little bit eye opening. It kind of has an overall message that tells you to do the things you actually enjoy and take risks to get what you really want in life. It also has a romance part to it, a friendship part, a finding yourself part, and is just a really wonderful book.
It is, as I mentioned, not the deepest and heaviest book to read, but I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is more suited towards girls than boys, though.

That's really all I have to say about The Life List. I loved it and highly recommend it. If you want to read the "official" description of the book, check out my previous blog post here!

Have you read this book? Or have you read any other good books recently that I should read?

Back to School Fashion Haul!

As you know, I went to DC a couple of weeks ago. While I was there I obviously had to go shopping. (Because you can't really go to the US without shopping!) Here are some of the fashion items that I picked up while I was there. I have stuff from Urban Outfitters, Target and Ona. I'll have a new video up next week with all the beauty stuff that I got. I hope you enjoy! :)

New books!!

Happy Tuesday! How's you week so far? :) We're in the middle of moving and trying to rent out our apartment, so there are boxes everywhere around me. Anyways...
While we were in DC we spent quite a bit of time in Barnes & Nobles. Roy and I both love books, and a book store that big was like heaven for us. I only ended up getting three books, but I also took note of a lot of other ones that I want to read in the future. I'll do a blogpost about those later. The three I picked up were If I Stay by Gayle Forman, We'll Always Have Paris by Jennifer Coburn and The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman.

I have already finished The Life List, so I'll do a review of that soon! I had actually not heard of either of these books before I got them, but the title and the description of each of them really got my interest.

If I Stay

Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, adoring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. Then, in an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the one decision she has left—the most important decision she’ll ever make.
Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting and ultimately uplifting story about memory, music, living, dying, loving.

 The Life List

Brett Bohlinger seems to have it all: a plum job, a spacious loft, an irresistibly handsome boyfriend. All in all, a charmed life. That is, until her beloved mother passes away, leaving behind a will with one big stipulation: In order to receive her inheritance, Brett must first complete the life list of goals she’d written when she was a naïve girl of fourteen. Grief-stricken, Brett can barely make sense of her mother’s decision—her childhood dreams don’t resemble her ambitions at age thirty-four in the slightest. Some seem impossible. How can she possibly have a relationship with a father who died seven years ago? Other goals (Be an awesome teacher!) would require her to reinvent her entire future. As Brett reluctantly embarks on a perplexing journey in search of her adolescent dreams, one thing becomes clear. Sometimes life’s sweetest gifts can be found in the most unexpected places.

We'll Always Have Paris
Jennifer Coburn has always been terrified of dying young. So she decides to save up and drop everything to travel with her daughter, Katie, on a whirlwind European adventure before it's too late. Even though her husband can't join them, even though she's nervous about the journey, and even though she's perfectly healthy, Jennifer is determined to jam her daughter's mental photo album with memories—just in case.
From the cafés of Paris to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Jennifer and Katie take on Europe one city at a time, united by their desire to see the world and spend precious time together. In this heartwarming generational love story, Jennifer reveals how their adventures helped vanquish her fear of dying...for the sake of living.

I'm really excited to get started on the other two! I think I might read If I Stay first, just because I really want to see the movie, but I always like to have read the book first. And then I'll move on to We'll Always Have Paris after that.
Have you read any of these book? What did you think of them? And did you see the movie version of If I Stay yet?

A week in DC! ♡

As I mentioned earlier, I spent the last week in DC, meeting my boyfriend who has been cycling across the US from Seattle to DC this summer. If you are interested, you can read more about his journey here: www.TransAmTraveling.blogspot.com :) We decided that I would fly over to meet him and that we would spend one week together in DC. We had the most amazing time just relaxing, doing touristy stuff and just having fun. I hadn't seen him in two months, so it was sooo good to see him again!! Here are some pictures from our trip, I hope you enjoy!

Happy reunion in front of the Washington Monument

Tired and happy in front of the Capitol. It had been pouring all day, hence my incredibly fancy hair-do. My shoes and feet were also soaking wet!

One of my favorite purchases (I will probably update about that later) and the view of the Capitol from Newseum.

In front of the White House and Lincoln Memorial.

Beautiful Georgetown and a cute little squirrel. They were everywhere!

Washington monument poking out of my head and the entrance to China Town.
Have you guys been traveling anywhere fun recently? Traveling is one of my favorite things in the entire world, and I've been so lucky to have travelled quite a bit in my 22 years!

Long time no see!

Hi guys!
So it has obviously been pretty much a year since I last updated you guys. I'm so sorry, I just had to prioritize, and the blog clearly suffered. I still love writing and blogging though, and I really want to get back into it. I can't promise anything about how often I'll update, but it will definitely be more frequent than the past year.. That shouldn't be too hard, right?!

What have you been up to recently? I recently went to Washington DC to meet my boyfriend who's been cycling across the US this summer. I'll probably make a post with some pictures from our trip soon :)

Anyways, I just wanted to check in with you guys! I think I'll spend the rest of the evening updating the layout and some other fun stuff here and there. Oh, and if you are interested I've been keeping a lot more up with my youtube channel, so if you want you can check that out here

xx, Siri
